I’m glad to get this question because I feel we give a very good value for the money. We have a fixed fee for the procedures we do, it includes everything. No extra charges, even your hotel room is provided. We just did our 3000th reversal last summer and we have never asked a patient to pay for anything but what they initially paid when they made their appointment. If you are given an appointment and change your mind there is a fee to reschedule but everyone is told that before they give us any money. With people coming from all over the United States, many flying into Atlanta, it’s just too hard to move appointments around when people don’t come for their appointment.
We see various “cafeteria “plans where a price is quoted for surgery with extras if you weigh over 200 pounds, have had previous C-sections, want pain medicine afterwards and so forth. If extras are possible you can bet something will be extra for you to pay. They will ask that you bring a debit card or credit card when you come. It seems to me, that if your doctor knows there will be extras, you should be told this before you send them the first dime. That’s what happens at Lakeshore Surgical Center because there are no surprises, period! We know of a facility that tells their patients to get $500 worth of lab work as soon as they have paid a fee and been given an appointment.
